First post! Lets introduce the general idea of this blog.

Hello!

This has been on the tip of my mind for quite a while now. I have a decent range of activities to post on, but its taken me until just recently to organize those thoughts in a pattern that might be decent for posting.

The focus of BiteOTech is going to be part journal, part howto, part commentary on my interests.

1 More Tech Blog?
Tech comes from my love of technology, but its not just another view of the latest and greatest. Theres innumerable blogs on that subject that have it pretty well covered already. These include quite a few that I read as well like Lifehacker, wired, Popsci. They have the resources and contacts to access all the ipad 12s and the nexus 9Gs of the world.

No my view of tech is more about the things that I can get my hands on. Sometimes I get a shiny new toy and carefully take it out of the package to bask in its glory. Most often though I've found some deal on some age old venerable piece of tech that complements something I already have, or some neat system I once saw but was inaccessible at the time. Perhaps the things were just too expensive for me to conceivably buy when they were new.

Old tech doesn't die just because the new crop came out. Quite often there is a legion of users quite content with the functioning of the current devices, but all their troubles get drowned out. So Ill see if I can keep some light back on the things that I think are neat.

So Ill post up here my experiments, new aquisitions, and even some of the spectacular failures that kill off my beloved gadgets. Some of it will be good just to document some of the withering hinterland of the web. Websites and resources that are perhaps falling into a bit of disrepair over the years.
So whats the "Bite" part?

No it isn't spelled wrong, and I of course know the difference between a bite and a byte. :\

I also have an interest in cooking. Even considered going to cooking school for awhile, but never went through with that. I've cooked for family, friends, parties, professionally on a boat, as part of my own business, for both survival and pleasure.

I'm discovering with my recent move to a new apartment that these 2 hobbies arent mutually exclusive. I can sit down on a programming project, and take a break to whip up a quick roast or soup idea. ..makes a good contrast and helps to keep the mind awake when I go back to my task.

So Why not write about both subjects! Everyone enjoys good food. ..and so thats where the "Bite" part of the name comes in. Notes on my discoveries in food, places, ingredients, recipes and the like.

Enjoy!
